Avon Tyres keeps UK race marshals on the road

Marshals holding MSVR membership cards will be able to claim a 15% discount on a new set of Avon tyres from any National Tyres branch, to reward them for their time and effort, which ultimately keep the sport going.  Discounts on other National Tyre services are also available as part of the programme.  Melksham based tire manufacturer, Cooper Tire & Rubber Company Europe Limited, manufactures high quality Avon branded tyres designed to fit a variety of cars, 4x4s, vans and motorcycles.

Between March and November, more than 2,200 men and women from all over the UK, and from all walks of life, volunteer to marshal at motor racing events at circuits across the country.  

“Those of us lucky enough to race cars are indebted to the unpaid work these people do,” explained Julian Baldwin, Avon’s motorsport chief and managing director of Cooper Tire Europe.

“Not only are they on hand should you run out of talent on a corner, or come to some other mishap, but if they weren’t out there in their familiar orange suits, we wouldn’t have racing cars lining up on the grid at all!  That’s why Avon is happy to be giving something back to motorsport’s backroom boys and girls.”

One of the longest-standing stalwarts of British motor racing, Avon Tyres has been involved in the sport for more than six decades, and has competed at every level, from grassroots racing to Formula 1. Today Avon is sole supplier to the Avon Tyres British GT Championship and British F3 series.

Last year, more than 150 champions were crowned on Avon tyres across the world.
