Raphaël joins Swindon Engines from Triple Eight Race Engineering, where over the last decade he has been responsible for Vauxhall’s engine programme in the British Touring Car Championship. During this time Vauxhall won twenty titles (team, manufacturer and drivers).
Commenting on the appointment, Raphaël Caillé said: “It is an honour to take over the wheel of such a well respected name in the engine business and I am excited about the challenge ahead. Our recent new business wins to develop and build the TOCA engine for the new BTCC cars as well as a new V6 GT race engine for a British car manufacturer prove what a strong base we have, with plenty of potential in the future.”
Swindon Engines owner, Gary Dunn added: “I am delighted to have someone of Raphael’s calibre take over the running of the business as well as becoming my business partner and I am confident we will see Swindon Engines regain its position as one of the leading engine providers to motorsport in the UK and Continental Europe.”
