Meet Dunlop BTCC aces at show

Dunlop, returning in 2010 as BTCC title sponsor for the next four years, is doubling the size of its stand at the world-famous motor sport show which runs from Thurs 14 Jan-Sun 17 Jan.

The WSR team’s BMW 320si that Colin Turkington steered to title glory in 2009 will be on display throughout. A second WSR car – due to be unveiled by Turkington on the Thursday morning – will also be on show on the central Autosport stage.

Similarly, the Vauxhall Vectra to be raced by Andrew Jordan for his family-run Jordan Motorsport team in 2010 will be easy to spot with a prime position in the main public concourse. The car is much anticipated - it is among the first to be powered by the BTCC's new turbo engine, while its livery is also expected to be full of wow factor.

Meanwhile, a raft of drivers from 2009’s BTCC season – shown live on ITV4 and which attracted some 325,000 to its ten rounds – are also scheduled to appear on Dunlop’s spectacular stage during the four days.

Turkington and Jordan are among those already pencilled in – keep an eye on btcc.net for confirmation of who’ll be appearing when, particularly on the Saturday and Sunday when the show opens its doors to the public.

In addition to being interviewed before a public audience, drivers will also be available for autographs and photo opportunities.

Driving chance for U-17s

Younger enthusiasts looking for a chance to have a go at motor sport should also visit the Go Motorsport stand in Hall 7 at the NEC. Go Motorsport is an initiative set up by the Motor Sports Association (UK motor sport’s governing body) and is also supported by the BTCC and many of its teams and drivers – indeed, Colin Turkington and Jason Plato are among its ambassadors along with reigning Formula 1 World Champion Jenson Button.

This year’s Go Motorsport stand is dedicated to showing under 17s how they can start out driving in many types of exciting four-wheeled disciplines, such as the Ginetta Junior cars that form part of the BTCC's exciting supporting bill.
