Team Eurotech places Clio deposits
Team Eurotech has placed deposits for two of the new Renault Clio Cup cars and is hoping to mount a serious challenge for the 2007 Elf Renault Clio Cup.
Mike Jordan's team is aiming to field the Clio operation alongside its on-going BTCC programme. "We want to run the Clios as a junior team to our BTCC team and capitalise on our success in this year's BTCC," says Jordan.
Jordan was inspired to place the deposits for the all-new Clio after attending the launch event at Donington Park recently. "I saw the enthusiasm for the young guys wanting to move up into the BTCC," he says. "I'd really like to work with two drivers and help them progress."
Team Eurotech is now looking for two young drivers with race winning potential to join the project. "We're planning for this to be a long-term operation and it will be good to be in at the start of the new Clio."
Jordan's decision to expand his team within the BTCC support-race paddock was cemented when he drove the new Clio at Silverstone recently. Having been invited to drive the car for a magazine feature, he came away highly impressed. "I was so impressed with the car that I decided it was something that we really needed to be involved in."
The 2007 plans for Eurotech will now centre on three distinct race programmes. "Being able to run two Clios would really complete a strong package, running in parallel with our BTCC and Ascari GT campaigns," says Jordan.
